Description
The project "My Beloved Kyiv" was developed and implemented by the well-known Ukrainian master - engraver Oleksandr Surmak and his team. The idea was to capture the rich history of Kyiv. They chose a Sig Sauer P226 X5 pistol, made of stainless steel, which preserved its authentic steel color, as the base for this project. Throughout the project's development, the design evolved. The team shifted the positions of monuments, revised and added more details to better depict Kyiv's storied past through its most iconic landmarks. Master utilized various techniques, including volumetric and relief engraving, the Bulino technique, and sculptural engraving. They also set 119 diamonds and a 24-carat gold inlay.
